A trip to Chiclayo
In
Chiclayo you can learn a lot about pre-incan cultures, such as the Mochica or
Lambayeque cultures. You learn about what they did, how they lived and where
they lived. There are many places where you can learn this, first you have the
ruins left behind by these ancient civilizations and there's also the museums
(which hold the pieces found in ruins).
On
the city and the places around it, there are many things to see and visit.
The "Museo de Tumbas reales" and the "Museo de Sitio" of Chiclayo are two great examples; these museums hold pieces of great cultural importance for our country, Peru. They hold old golden and copper pieces, they hold the bodies of ancient leaders, they teach us how people lived way in the past. There's also the "Huaca Rajada", an old building made purely of adobe that served as a tomb for important members of their society.

We
also have the "dry forest", Pomac, a beautiful National Ecological
Reserve 30 minutes away from the city, home to the "Arbol Milenario",
a big Algarrobo tree that has been there for a hundred years, it represents the
algarrobo, which is an important part of the culture and customs of the local
people.
The
flora we could appreciate was the algarrobo, which is used to make algarrobina.
It is an important part of the culture of the region. It´s also habitat of species
such as anteaters, squirrels, ferrets, lizards and thousands of other insect
species.
